Millions of Families Will Pay $2,100 More in Annual Health Insurance Premiums Under Senate Bill

It's just so predictable.  There are hundreds of mechanisms to improve health care that wouldn't cost anyone a single cent.  But the Democrats don't want that.  All they want is a single payer system which will cost trillions.  Yes, trillions.  Some of it directly from government spending (your tax money), some through additional taxes and fees (your tax money) and still other money by taxing health care providers (thus a pass through tax to you).  Did you ever think that one of the reasons that Europe and others have a socialized system?  Even though it's a complete failure, they think they can afford to do it because the U.S. is funding their military budgets.  We spend over billions, so others don't really have to.  They have extra money to piss away on bad ideas.  We do NOT.

For millions of American families, the cost of health insurance premiums will increase $2,100 a year under the Democratic health care bill now being debated in the U.S. Senate.

That’s according to an analysis conducted by the Congressional Budget Office (CBO) and the staff of the Joint Committee on Taxation (JTO). 

The CBO-JCT analysis of Sen. Harry Reid’s bill found that people buying their own health insurance policies on government-run exchanges – as they will be required to do if they lack coverage through work -- will see their premiums increase by up to 13 percent in 2016, the year in which the Senate bill takes full effect.

Climategate: Follow the Money

Now this is the kind of stuff that I like.  This is what news journalists are supposed to do!  They see an lie and they try to uncover the who, where and why behind it. 

Climate change researchers must believe in the reality of global warming just as a priest must believe in the existence of God.

But the deeper question is why the scientists behaved this way to begin with, especially since the science behind man-made global warming is said to be firmly settled. To answer the question, it helps to turn the alarmists' follow-the-money methods right back at them.

Consider the case of Phil Jones, the director of the CRU and the man at the heart of climategate. According to one of the documents hacked from his center, between 2000 and 2006 Mr. Jones was the recipient (or co-recipient) of some $19 million worth of research grants, a sixfold increase over what he'd been awarded in the 1990s.

Why did the money pour in so quickly? Because the climate alarm kept ringing so loudly: The louder the alarm, the greater the sums. And who better to ring it than people like Mr. Jones, one of its likeliest beneficiaries?


Thus, the European Commission's most recent appropriation for climate research comes to nearly $3 billion, and that's not counting funds from the EU's member governments. In the U.S., the House intends to spend $1.3 billion on NASA's climate efforts, $400 million on NOAA's, and another $300 million for the National Science Foundation. The states also have a piece of the action, with California—apparently not feeling bankrupt enough—devoting $600 million to their own climate initiative. In Australia, alarmists have their own Department of Climate Change at their funding disposal.

Climategate: Imminent Demise of Glaciers Due to … a Typo!

Well isn't this just getting pathetic?  A typo?  Decades and decades of faux research, and this is the best excuse that this scumbags can come up with?

The IPCC has been claiming Himalayan glaciers could be gone by 2035. The research paper they used concluded 2350.

According to Prof Graham Cogley (Trent University, Ontario), a short article on the future of glaciers by a Russian scientist (Kotlyakov, V.M., 1996, The future of glaciers under the expected climate warming, 61-66, in Kotlyakov, V.M., ed., 1996, Variations of Snow and Ice in the Past and at Present on a Global and Regional Scale, Technical Documents in Hydrology, 1. UNESCO, Paris (IHP-IV Project H-4.1). 78p estimates 2350 as the year for disappearance of glaciers, but the IPCC authors misread 2350 as 2035 in the Official IPCC documents, WGII 2007 p. 493!

Zeituni Onyango told The Associated Press in an exclusive interview that she is troubled that her immigration woes have made her a political liability to her nephew.

Onyango, the half sister of Obama's late father, says she has exiled herself from the family after attending Obama's inauguration because she didn't want to become fodder for his foes. Obama and his family have not reached out to her either, she said.

"I loved President Bush," Onyango said while moving toward a framed photo of Bush and his wife standing with Barack and Michelle Obama at the White House on inauguration day. "He is my No. 1 man in my life because he helped me when I really needed that help." [Oddly enough, her nephew wasn't there to help her with her medical bills and basic needs.  He did get a lovely house in Hyde Park though].
